We are Anne and Michael, married couple, east coasters, both artists and teachers currently living in the Midwest. Every Beantown Handmade item is carefully created by hand in our Nebraska studio under the supervision of our two Bostons, Lily and Bean. Anne has created over 600 pet sweaters and over 1,500 items for pets and their owners in just over 3 years. We hope more and more pets each year can find a safe and loving home like the one we give Bean and Lily, and we donate a portion of our proceeds to animal rescue organizations all over the world to help make that possible.
Anne started creating handmade sweaters for Bean in order to help him cope with the bitter Nebraska winters. She soon found she loved designing for pets and Beantown Handmade was founded in November of 2008. Her designs put your pet's comfort and ease of movement first, and she strives to create high quality pieces both you and your dog or cat can enjoy. Michael and Anne's love of painting led them to include hand painted pet portraits, ornaments and ceramics to the shop in the Spring of 2009.
